KNX at the Light + Building Show, Frankfurt
Once again KNX manufacturers were dominant in the technical halls at the Light + Building show this month in Frankfurt. Heaps of new KNX products were shown for, amongst other things: tuneable white LED dimming; IP control and visualisation; HVAC and BMS control; KNX and the Internet of Things.
New advances in KNX were introduced that are responding to, and leading, current implementation of building control – such as, ‘KNX Secure’, which makes KNX networks secure from outside interference, and, ‘ETS Inside’, which allows the ETS project file to remain in the installation.

Standards Australia are hosting a round-table meeting early April in Sydney to discuss the project to adopt the KNX standard IEC 14543-3 regionally in Australia and New Zealand. We have a seat at the table and will represent the National Group’s interest. Progress is being made, but some objections from the Lighting Councils of Australia and New Zealand with respect to the adoption need to be addressed.
Since the last newsletter, we are delighted to welcome SIMX as a new distributor member. See their profile on the website www.knxnz.org

Don’t forget that the AGM will be Tuesday 17-May in Auckland. It would be great to see as many people as possible there – it will be fun and valuable for all who attend.
